Teaching

Our surgery is a teaching practice affiliated with UCC and we continue to be actively involved with the training and education of final year medical students.

Each autumn we are delighted to welcome two students to work alongside the medical staff at the surgery on a 4 week rotation over a six month period.  As well as providing students with a valuable opportunity to experience Primary Care at first hand, the doctors also hold educational tutorials and further support student learning through clinical audits and directed self-learning.

Although a student may sometimes be in attendance with the doctor during patient consultations*, you may request to see the doctor alone if preferred and this can be brought to the attention of reception staff when checking in for your appointment or to the attention of the doctor who calls you from the waiting room.

(*We would like to highlight that all members of staff, including students are governed by an ethic of privacy and confidentiality).
