Well Person Checks

A well person check is a specialised medical which involves a physical examination and blood tests.  Other tests may also be necessary based upon the individual needs of the patient.

An initial appointment should be made to see the nurse who will perform blood tests appropriate for age, sex and medical/family history.  It will be necessary to fast for 14 hours prior to this appointment.

A full well person check then requires a follow-up appointment 10-14 days later with the doctor, at which stage blood test results should be available.  At this appointment the doctor will perform a physical examination and discuss blood test results.  Any further tests or specialist referral deemed appropriate will also be scheduled at this time.

A copy of all your results will be made available if required.

There is a special fee for “Well Person Check*”, please see fees section.  (*Private health insurance companies may offer some reimbursement for this service, it will be necessary to contact your insurer to check your individual policy conditions)
