Covid-19 Second Booster Vaccination Programme

Further to recommendations from NIAC, the HSE is progressing with the implementation of a Second Covid Booster Vaccine Programme for people who are at higher risk from serious Covid-19 illness.

The following patients can get their 2nd booster dose:

65 years or older

12 years or older with immunocompromise associated with a weak immune system

The second booster dose can be given 4 months after the first booster. If you have had Covid-19 since your first booster, wait at least 4 months after testing positive or from when symptoms started.

You can book an appointment to get your second booster at a vaccination centre.

The programme for those who are housebound will be led by the community mobile teams and details will be advised shortly.

The HSE will also issue SMS reminders to people in the Immunocompromised group as their second boosters become due in the coming weeks.
